Salem Village Witch-Hunt Walking Tour-2

November 2 @ 10:00 am - 11:15 am

$25.00

Salem is where people visit to learn about the 1692 witchcraft trials, but Salem Village (present-day Danvers) is where it first began, and where many of the leading figures of the Witch-Hunt lived. It is where the Devil was allegedly raised, where people claimed to see specters of accused witches hurting them, and were Villagers turned against their neighbors because of the fear that some amongst them were in league with the Devil.

Walk the grounds of old Salem Village where the Puritans lived, worked, and prayed. Visit several significant historical sites related to the witch-hunt, including the parsonage where Reverend Samuel Parris’ 9-year-old daughter Betty and 11-year-old niece Abigail had their fits that began it all. You will also learn where several accusers and accused lived, and where Salem Villagers gathered to watch those accused of witchcraft questioned by the judges.

Daniel A. Gagnon, a life-long Danvers resident, historian, and author, will lead the tour that will give you a greater understanding of what occurred during the 16-month hysteria.

Book your tickets through Salem Historical Tours here: https://www.salemhistoricaltours.com/salem-village-witch-hunt-walking-tour

Details on the meeting location in Danvers and directions will be in the confirmation email.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Danvers Historical Society.
